Patricia greeted me warmly upon arrival, even though I arrived late. The room surprised me with its coziness, spotlessly clean and a comfy bed that made for great sleep. Breakfast was a standout. her husband’s homemade bread added a special touch to the Irish breakfast, which had a good variety—definitely worth getting up early for! The guesthouse's peaceful location, around 25 minutes from Galway, really allowed me to unwind. However, I did notice that the walls were quite thin, so noise could be an issue if other guests were active. There were also limited common areas to relax aside from my room, which felt a bit restrictive. Overall, I had a delightful stay, but some aspects could use refinement to enhance the experience further.

Welcoming host Patricia made my stay enjoyable.

I was very disappointed with the lack of common areas to relax. The towels in our bathroom were not only stained but also smelled musty, which should never be the case. Additionally, the walls were so thin that I could hear every conversation from the adjacent rooms, making it impossible to enjoy any peace.

This place is a decent option for a brief stopover in Oughterard with great value for the money. The homemade bread at breakfast was a delightful surprise and really added to the experience. Make sure to check out the nearby Aughnanure Castle for a nice walk.

My stay at Mountain View Guesthouse was truly delightful. The room was impeccably clean, spacious, and cozy, ensuring a restful night. We had a lovely stay with our kids. The location was perfect for a quick drive to downtown Oughterard. Patricia made us feel right at home, and we enjoyed the delicious Irish breakfast each morning. Plus, we were just minutes from Oughterard Golf Club for some family fun!

In my wife's opinion, it would be great to have more common areas for the kids to play.

the only downside was the small breakfast area. but the ensuite bathroom was spacious, the nature sounds at night were calming, and the breakfast options were diverse. my companion highly enjoyed the bacon here.

perfect base for exploring castles and mines nearby

i had a fantastic stay, as the host was welcoming, and the breakfast was delightful with local options that set me up for a day of exploration. Being only about 2 km from aughnanure castle made it super easy to take a leisurely walk to this stunning landmark.

Great wi-fi, free parking, and friendly hosts. Room was small but tidy. No pets allowed.

Strongly recommend for spending night

Cozy room, excellent shower, with beautiful scenery and a variety of breakfast options, including homemade bread that made our mornings special.
